I’m traveling to Australia next year and wanted to know a few things..
I’m going for a working holiday visa (extended visa for 12 months) to stay for an entire year with my best friend and her family, which has all been arranged. I was told by the visa AUS office that I would need:
*Proof of ,000 plus plane ticket showing I plan to return back to the states at the end of my stay (if not an additional ,000)
* A letter from my friend (for declaring living and accommodation expenses).
What I want to know is, with the US economy as it is and the US dollar failing against AUS dollar now. Will the ,000 I save be invalid after the exchange rate be enough to meet the requirements for this visa?
Also, is there medical insurance I can have while abroad for the entire stay?
I mainly wanted other experiences and advice before contacting the visa office during business hours. Thanks!
Another thing, I’m planning to look for work as an CNA/HHA provider and I was wondering if I needed to get some kind of a police check in the states before I deport.
I don’t think they are too picky about the $5000, $5000US should do.
I can’t help you with the health insurance.
Our healthcare system is different and I don’t think we have such a thing as a CNA/HAA provider or anything very similar – can you explain exactly what you do in that job?
Mali, Regardless of what work your will be doing. This is the following you will need.
1. Round trip ticket
2. $AUD 5000,00 minimum or access to.
3. For your own protection, take out a good travel insurance, as your not going to be a PR of Australia, so you are not entitled to their Medicare.
