do you need a driving license to drive a scooter in spain and are there any particular road rules, i.e certain?

travelling out to spain next week and was wondering if anyone knows whether a full driving license is an essential part of riding a scooter. also what are the insurance responsibilities?

    A car licence will cover you for riding a scooter, your own insurance will cover you as well.

    A license is required to operate a scooter on roads in Spain.

    I am not sure about insurance responsibilities. I would recommend finding out about insurance laws in Spain, if insurance is required, then obviously your scooter must be insured.
