i have been watching police programs on tv for a while and never really noticed an answer to the above question.
i know that if they are traveling behind you and your speeding they will obviously catch you, and on the anpr machine it will pop up no tax, insurance ETC if your are on the opposite side Other the road to them and both moving
but can they catch you speeding if you are speeding in one direction and they are traveling i the opposite direction both day and night?

Yes
Yes to both day and night. They can use radar, which figures out how fast you are coming toward each other and then subtract the police car’s speed, or they can estimate your speed. Usually to estimate you have to be going a far bit over the seed limit and/or weaving through traffic that is presumably driving at the speed limit, but not always.
The last place where you should be getting your information about police work is on television shows. Nothing depicted happens in real life.
Yes the police can determine your speed going in the opposite direction. There is new technology.
In addition to the previous answers, after their radar shows your speed, the may radio ahead to a unit on your side of the freeway/ road for an assist. They may not catch you, but they have a friend who could.
Yes. They also use Vascar and who knows what else these days. In fact they can catch two, one forward and the other backward. Jurisdiction determines if or when a suspected vehicle is pursued. No matter what NEVER plead guilty to anything because if you do, you are giving up every right that was paid for in blood. You have the right to have your case heard in a court of law – so do it. If you need help, go to a law school and ask for a law student to help. They pretty much do it for free.

Yes to both of your questions. The radar can pick up your speed when traveling behind or in front of a police car.It can also pick up your speed while traveling the opposite direction as the officer. This can all be changed by the officer inside the cruiser.
