Is there travel insurance that covers vacation injuries?

My Dad wants to go skiing in Colorado and since skiing was always one of those things that he and I did together, he really wants me to go with him this year. I’ve never been skiing in Colorado and would really love to go with him, the only hitch in the whole thing is that I was laid off and I can’t afford insurance. Dad has offered to pay for the trip, and since he’s getting on a bit in years (and I’ll likely never have this kind of flexibility in my schedule again) this may be one of the last opportunities we have to go on a vacation like this together. I would really like to go but I can’t get past the potential for financial disaster if I get hurt. Does anyone know of a short-term insurance or travel insurance that would cover me for a vacation like this?
