    It will be hard to find any type of 1/2 ton pick up diesel. Try a 3/4 or 1 ton.

    A mid-80s F150 never had a diesel and the frames were junk.

    A truck won’t have crumple zones. They are body-on-frame construction.

    These bubbles on wheels that pretty much all cars are now…that’s what crumple zones are for.

    Want something stout? You get a 2004-later new body style F150. Not sure why you think an 80s model truck without airbags is even remotely as safe…

    Crumple zones started in the 1960s as they cost next to nothing to add. And they are there to save your life in case someone runs into you.

    They saved me from injury when some fool ran a red right in front of me even though it means my Miata was a write off. But it was just a car and I can get another one.I have not had an at fault accident in 40 years of driving but I am happy to have all the safety that can be engineered into my car.
