So one of my Canadian friend traveled to Calif. two years ago, got into a serious accident that wasn’t her fault, and was hospitalized for a while. However, she did not purchase travel insurance and the other party’s insurance company can only cover so much, therefore she owes an amount of money to the hospital… which she has not resolved yet.
Recently, she’s thinking of moving to California and obtain a job here, but is worried that she will be forced to pay back what she owes.
How does it work?
Thanks for the responses.
How would she be forced to pay the bill? and the bill is around 0k if anyone was wondering.
The medical bills should go under her credit, but if she has health insurance or her own automobile insurance she should try to get them to pick up part of the bills
She will be forced to pay back what she owes. However, she should speak with a lawyer about getting the money she spent from the person that was at fault in the accident.
She’s got a lot of nerve! Tell her to stay there, we have enough dead beats here already! Heaven forbid she has to pay what she owes, I mean we could have just left her on the side of the road or told her to go back to Canada for treatment! What a way to thank us for helping her! If she can afford the move, she can afford to PAY HER BILLS!!!
