I recently broke my arm (colles radial fracture) but am leaving on a 6 month surf/sail trip through Central/ South america. My travel medical insurance will not cover the cost of removal because it is considered a pre existing condition. Any suggestions on how to remove the fibergalss cast myself or idea of the cost in a facility in Central or South America. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

A hacksaw blade works pretty well, but it’s very slow because you can’t hold the blade at an optimal angle in order to avoid cutting yourself.
Removing it yourself is not a good idea at all. Removing it yourself could possibly re-injure your arm or worse. I suggest going back to your doctor.
