I have been living with an upper back pain for almost ten years. I went to see so many doctors back home and did not recover. In one instance, the doctor even injected pain killer right in the pain spot and didnt help. When i rotate my left arm , I hear a sound of bone or muscle and do not hear the same sound with the right arm. I dont have insurance and have not seen a doctor as I cant pay. I live in New York City. If i travel by bus or plane it hurts..I cant sit on a chair for a long time as I have to crack my back . Please help .
Thanks
Any hospitals that specializes or treats such issues in NY city? I am a college student and it is difficult to study sitting in the library or home for a prolong period. The part that hurts is the upper left side of the back. I dont know the exact body part, but the part that hurts is between trapezius and rhomboideus.
I am afraid of the surgery and they can be really costly and yet not heal. I dont know if i have herniated disc or a pinched nerve. Offcourse that can be known through a diagnosis by a doctor. I dont know what to do..this pain has really bothered me for long . When massaged by finger tips putting pressure on this area, I feel relieved but then after that, it goes away.
go see a chiropractor whenever you have the money.
proper posture
swimming
avoid worries
try this.. should get better
i too have severe back pain and had steroid injections, they were very expensive, if i didn’t have insurance i would not have been able to afford them, they were seventeen hundred dollars a shot, that helped the pain a little, now i’m on pain meds and i just got an mri today….you really need to see a doctor…good luck
try a physiotherapist
See an osteopath, chiropractors tend to focus primarily on the spine, where as a naturopathic osteopath (manual therapist) will consider the whole body. It will cost but it’s best to get it looked at now because it’ll just continue to get worse if not resolved.
In the mean time try some easy and light stretching exercises for the shoulder and back. Also try hydrotherapy:- when the pain is severe apply a cold pack (or equivalent like frozen veg) for 2-5mins 3 times a day. If the pain is dull and achey apply a heat pack for 3mins then immediately follow with a cold pack for 1min. Repeat twice and do this x2 a day, always finishing on cold. This could be done in the shower too, with running water.
If you can, get a friend to massage the area for you too, try and get them to direct their strokes from your spine out round to your arm pits, to encourage drainage in the right direction and with you lying on your right side get your friend to try and gently lift your shoulder blade off your spine and knead the muscles in between there. (I know that might sound weird but you just want to be able to get the fingers onto the muscles in that region)
Hope that helps you but ideally see an osteopath.
