Liberals will get rid of that verbiage eventually.

It is a legal term which simply means natural disaster. There are hundreds of years of precedent in western law.

I hope this isn’t true. If it is , it’s definitely a new low for these companies. It is things like this that tell you there is no god and if there was, he needs to cleanse this place of jerks like that who laugh all the way to the bank and golf course.

Because they are in business and will use any feeble excuse to get out of paying an individual.

That is said so that no claims have to be paid.

It’s just insurance-ese for things that no human is responsible for. The phrase doesn’t literally mean that any god was the cause.

They no longer use this term, they have evolved & now use act of Nature

If you don’t like it, substitute “force majeure.”

Especially hard for an Atheist like me to understand.

insurance companies have been using this since they started business. It means a natural disaster. I think they should be refunded though.

Meh, I’d find something else to bunch your panties over than contract-speak. Who cares?

Everything manifested in this universe is a play of God. Suffering in this world happens so people don’t forget God. If there is only happiness and no suffering, people will stop believing in God because they take things for granted. If there is no consequences for the actions of the people, people will misuse their duties and responsibilities.

    May all the beings in all the worlds be happy;
Peace, peace and peace be everywhere.

That’s not new. It’s just a term to cover events outside human control — events that can’t be blamed on any person. It’s use dates back centuries, to when everybody agreed there was a God. Today it might be replaced with ‘natural disasters’ but it would still be there. The clause is written into the policy.

I don’t agree with it. Insurers ought to include ‘Act of God’ events and purchase reinsurance to cover themselves. But their actuaries probably decided the rate increases would make the policies unmarketable.

Acts of war and terrorism are usually excluded from coverage, too.

In life things happen due to choices we make. Volcanic eruptions and other so called natural disasters are inverse reaction to the damage we humans have inflicted on mother earth time and time again. The mere act that those people survived is the evidence of God’s love. God made good and evil, natural disasters and beautiful sights in life because of love. when we choose to do good and do good things, we prove our love to him. Its parents and kids….when little kids sometimes do something wrong, like paint on the wall, the parents say don’t do it and they do it anyways……that’s how God watches his children disobey him, but because he loves them he doesn’t stop them from doing wrong. God has the power to abolish all evil if he wants, but then how do we really prove our love for him….its like we are robots…….no free will. But when he do right despite the allure of sin that is true love to GOD!!!

when parents let their kids mature and go out into the world, the only hope they will do well and return home, call them often and return the love they got whilst growing up. Same thing with God. He wants us to love him………that’s why he saves us, he keeps believing in us even when we sin. that’s why bad guys sometimes get a second chance because EVeryone can change. Everyone deserves an opportunity to change.

    Peace and blessings

Or should we say it act of EVOLUTION? or SCIENCE? or ATHEIST? If you disagreed.
None of this qualified. The word GOD is to explain a natural disaster beyond the control of any SCIENCE who had a false claim of so much authority on the universe.

Should we blame this on the SCIENTIST who failed or have no intelligence to predict the happening? If they are not going to come forward to make a stand on this to show their superiority, then we should consider them null and void.

Only GOD could stand alone to challenge anyone who wish to question HIS authority. So if anyone is not pleased with what happened, what can you do about it? You are even powerless to even questioning this ACT of GOD.
