i am going on a 3 month trip to several countries in south east asia in a few weeks. most of the single trip travel insurance policies i have looked at need you to select a destination, and worldwide insurance is usually in an annual multi-trip policy. any ideas about the cheapest way to get decent cover would be appreciated.

For three months you will almost certainly have to get a multitrip annual policy. It won’t matter if this is your only trip though.
However, just make sure that it will cover you for the entire duration of your trip before you buy as some multitrip policies still limit the duration of each trip to about a month.
