I filled in a report form at the spanish police station for a wallet with 500 euro’s, I know i need to post this off to mu insurance company with other forms, but how do they investigate that im not lying(for your info, i was actually robbed 500 euro’s)? will they use cctv in the area to see if im pickpocketed on camera etc? are they allowed to use foreign cctv camera’s?
thanks
It all depends on your travel insurance. Contact the company you bought your insurance from or look up the agreement form they gave you when you made the purchase. Not all travel insurance reimburses you for stolen money.
Regarding CCTV, no they won’t be able to do that since those privileges are normally reserved for governmental agencies or other companies with whom the company owning the CCTV has an existing agreement with. I highly doubt your insurance company will have access to CCTV.
Again your answer will lie within the forms given to you by the travel insurance company. Give them a call if the documents confuse.
There are no companies that replace stolen cash. Your claim will be rejected. Travel insurance is only to protect you against cancelled trips or medical emergencies, sometimes lost luggage.
