Can someone tell me do rental car companies check your driving record beofre renting a car? If you were in an accident but did not report it to the police and just fix your car through the insurance does that count or does it have to go through motor vehicle? Is there a way to find out if you can get declined before traveling???
Yes I am 31 i have a valid NY license and would be renting in Florida. I have been in 2 accidents withen the past 2 years but the first one was not reported to DMV and the second one was not my car but was reported to the police. Nothing else though
you will have no problem
They only check to see if it is valid. Then they will ask if you want there insurance, that depends on your insurance.
They do not check your driving record, but do require a valid license and (most) rental companies will not rent to anyone below 25years old. They typically require you to show financial responsibility, either by showing your current insurance card or purchasing their insurance.
As long as you show a valid license, and a credit card, you get the vehicle. They won’t run your record. Oh, and are 25 or over.
If you have a valid license you can rent.
As long as your license is valid with no restrictions or suspensions, you should be fine. They will check with DMV to see if it is valid. Some companies (but few) will pull a brief summary of your record, only checking for major problems such as DUI/DWI’s, driving with no insurance or driving while suspended, etc. A few minor accidents or speeding tickets are not a problem, they won’t deny you for those items.
THEY ONLY CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT IT IS VALID AND NOTHING ELSE.
