A friend of mine has an extremely rare terminal cancer. It will require a lot of travel and other expenses the insurance wont cover (like experimental treatments, etc)
I know I have heard of funds set up for individuals…Where family and friends can go to the bank and donate or donate with a card. All I can find info on is how to set up a charity organization…Is it possible to set up one for an individual; if so how?

Try contacting your bank, or any bank especially a local bank. The bank’s customer service reps or bank manager should be able to advise you on how to set up the type of account you are referring to. Another way to set up these accounts is to contact an attorney, possibly through your local Legal Aid Society, to set up a charitable trust fund. You are very kind to look into doing this for your friend! Good luck!
Perhaps a bank will sent up a fund for you. You might get good response if a reporter from your local newspaper did an article about this person. People are in a generous mood during the holiday season
