My mother and father-in-law, and brother and sister-in-law are supposed to fly down here at the end of the month. The tickets were purchased through Hotwire the end of last month.
We recently just found out about insurance that you can purchase and did so Monday.
My father-in-law has been in the hospital for 1 1/2 weeks – however, we just found out today that he will not be able to fly.
We also purchased the trip protection for their hotel.
Is there anything we can do – or are we just out the ,500 that we spent on this trip???
Any advice would be helpful – thanks.
Travel insurance will usually exclude claims that are caused by a medical condition that existed just prior to the purchase of the insurance. Some plans will waive this exclusion if you meet certain conditions. So the facts surrounding the plan/s you purchased and when your father-in-law received treatment will determine whether or not the claim is covered.
