can a police car catch you speeding if they are travelling in the opposite direction to what you are?

i have been watching police programs on tv for a while and never really noticed an answer to the above question. i know that if they are traveling behind you and your speeding they will obviously catch you, and on the anpr machine it will pop up no tax, insurance ETC if your are on the opposite side Other the road to them and both moving but can they catch you speeding if you are speeding in one direction and they are traveling i the opposite direction both day and night?

First Speeding Ticket, What to Do?

Just got my first speeding ticket after about 2 months from my drivers’ license. I gotta admit that I did go 70mph on a 60mph zone. I live in Indiana. The police officer was travelling in the opposite direction and got me about 0.2 miles from the scene, when I was back at my house opening my door. =( I gotta pay 0 and I will get 2 points on my drivers license. Help with an interesting out of country ticket from the police?

So over a month and a half ago I was travelling through California from Mexico on my way to Canada, as this was a 43 hour trip I was speeding and I’m not gunna deny that I was, I was pulled over by the highway patrol and issued a ticket.
