Is this Information Accurate? If so, would you say it’s Ethical?
This question is regarding Canadian tax and employment laws. If you do this, you can then reap some tax benefits for travel, supplies, you can choose not to pay into CPP and Employment Insurance (EI) etc etc. He even went to far as to say the next car you buy, you could claim that for osme tax credits. Should I take the job that pays half what I made before or wait?
Here’s my dilemma. I applied for what I thought was a part-time job outside my field (Job A), as I have been bored sitting at home all day, but they only want FT. I have tried for 6 mos. to find a job in my field to no avail and 3/4 of those I applied at are for the same salary as Job A anyway. The bonus is Job A is right in my city and Read more [...]

Can you travel on Employment insurance?
My friend is on EI in Canada and wants to travel to the USA for a month. He thinks that if he does he will lose his EI, because at the border customs takes some record of you leaving the country that they share with HRSC(or something like that). Is this true, will be get busted for doing this and lose his EI?
Concerned recipient regarding Employment Insurance and investigating a travel?
I am currently an EI recipient. When I was still employed, I had a planned a one-week vacation outside of Canada however I lost my job, and still ended up going on the trip. I received a questionnaire from the investigation centre stating to complete the questionnaire and that there may have been an overpayment and a penalty could be imposed. Can anyone tell me the possible outcome of this? What would be the penalty owed?
