What is acceptable or unacceptable behavior when it comes to an ex-wife?

By admin on July 6, 2011

My husband and I have been together for 9 yrs. During our initial dating period he left me to return to his ex-wife. His reasons (1) We had no committed relationship in his view and we were simply friends. (2) She needed him and can’t make it financially with their 2 kids. It didn’t last but a month and he came back to me. I was hesitant to get back involved with him but after listening to his reasons I decided to put the experience in the past. However, his ex-wife and his children has been a major Read more [...]

Will I be able to get an abortion in Canada if I’m not a Canadian citizen?

By admin on July 4, 2011

No pro-lifers please, I’m not here to be converted. I’m an Australian citizen staying in Nova Scotia as a visitor with my long term partner I came over to be with, and we’ve accidentally gotten pregnant. It is not feasible to keep the child. I’ve caught it reasonably early and it’s between 3 and 4 weeks, roughly. Obviously I still need to get a blood test to confirm how far along I am but that’s common procedure. Every source I look into mentions a provincial health card and while I know these Read more [...]

Help, I have an irresponsible, childish mother!?

By admin on June 13, 2011

I’m a 15 year old girl and I have a problem and I don’t know who to turn to. My mother is completely, utterly irresponsible and impatient and more like the child than the mother. I feel like I’m always the parent to her. I always have to constantly remind her to not talk so loudly in public and it’s really embarrassing. She has the absolute shortest temper I’ve ever come across in my whole life. The whole world has to revolve around her or she’ll stomp around the house and slam doors and break anything Read more [...]

Can a single man adopt?

By admin on June 9, 2011

I’m currently in my early 20s, and I am thinking about eventually adopting when I have a stable job. I don’t plan on having a serious relationship or ever being married to a woman, and I do not want to have children of my own (because my family doesn’t have the best genes to pass down). I just don’t think marriage would be good for me because I don’t think a woman would truly love me, and I don’t know if I would want a romantic relationship. I never had a relationship mostly because I was more mature Read more [...]

what would you do in this situation?

By admin on June 4, 2011

I have a 6yr old son by an ex-boyfriend. My ex (Mike) is in the military and currently deployed. He is remarried, with a stepson, and a new baby on the way. Mike sends child support each month, splits school costs, and some times extracurricular activities. He also carries health insurance on our son. None of this is court ordered, we have just worked it out amongst ourselves. Mike’s wife sent me a message and wanted to know if I could bring our son to visit when he comes home for the birth of his Read more [...]

Traveling to Caribbean with 1yr old?

By admin on June 2, 2011

I am going on vacation to Punta Cana with my 1yr old in two weeks. This is my first child and his first vacation out of the country. I have made a list for him: Bottled water, sunscreen, insurance card, formula, tylenol, thermometer, benadryl (first aid type stuff), snacks for the plane, toys. I will have his stroller put in the cabin since I have two 2hr layovers going down. I think that will help while we are in the airport and I won’t have to carry him and a carry-on bag. I am looking Read more [...]
