How can I send a money order from the U.S to England in British Pounds?

By admin on January 4, 2012

When we were overseas my husband became I’ll and we had to push our return trip back and use our travel insurance. Now, the travel insurance wants a doctors note from the doctor we saw in England before they will reimburse us. We found the doctor and he will write a note but only if we send him 16 British pounds. He will not take credit card, personal check, cash or wired money. He requires a money order or something similar that is in British pounds… Not US dollars. Help! 16 pounds is all Read more [...]

Anticoagulant therapy clinics?

By admin on July 10, 2011

I will be traveling to Oshawa in December of this year for 1 month to be with my wife and daughter over christmas. (From the UK) I am a British Citizen, and realize it could cost allot in Insurance to get my INR levels monitored as i am now on Warfarin Indefinitely. Is there any way i’d be able to have my bloods checked for that whilst visiting Canada?

How do I get a hotel refund?

By admin on April 3, 2011

Hi, As you all know all UK flights were grounded last weekend, this was when we were meant to be flying. However, as soon as we were told by British Airways our flights were cancelled we contacted our airport hotel (Gatwick Worth) to say that BAA and British Airways have told us strictly not to travel to the airport because our flights have been cancelled, to which their customer service guy turned round and said “That’s not my problem, and your card has been charged” Where do I stand, and can I Read more [...]

What does a British Passport mean for me?

By admin on January 12, 2011

I have recently acquired my british passport and now hold dual citizenship. (NZ and British). I am currently planning a trip into Europe to explore and thinking of making it a one way ticket. What does my EU passport mean for me in terms of working, where can I work? (Rome? etc.) and also the rules on where abouts I can live. Am I covered under any health system? I have been advised that I don’t need medical insurance by my travel agency as I am a British citizen…any comments on this?

Does this affect the kind of insurance I can buy? I want to get a policy with one of the UK travel insurance companies, but can’t find any information on where I stand with it.

where can i buy travel insurance (i’m british), but i’ve already started my trip?

By admin on November 25, 2010

Normally, travel insurance companies don’t cover you if you’ve already left the country (i know, weird… but that’s what it says in the small print). I’ve heard that ‘world nomads’ will cover, but they charge extortionate prices! It may be worth it though… Please help! Thanks all :)

British Travel Insurance While In The States?

By admin on October 25, 2010

Hello, I will be going to California for 26 days this summer and am currently trying to find a travel insurance to cover my trip. I might go to Mexico for a day or two as well so that should be covered too. I know that Boots does an insurance but it seems rather expensive. Do you know of any other options? Preferrably I’d like to be able to walk into a store in London and purchase it rather than doing it online. Thanks.
