find a job first then tell your boss you are going to another job in 1 week, then he has a week to find someone to take your job

Tell him 15 days before you actually leave that would give him time to look for a new person

You should really be having this discussion with your Husband! P.S. Forget the best answer…get me a good price on a cruise to the Bahamas!!!

Its a company so therefore they are bound by certain rules and obligations they must follow, if you just submit a professional two weeks notice and and an equally professional letter of resignation you’ll be fine. Thats better than how I left the job I hated at a call center, I worked in a call center and antagonized customers for the entire day on my last day and when my boss tried to talk to me about it at the end I laughed at her and told I don’t work here anymore. Probably not the best decision but I’m still happy with it and currently work at a job I love, (like I said I don’t advise doing that though)

You know what the answer is already. Be honest with them and tell them exactly what you said here. Anything else is a story ( a lie).

Its obviously not working out for you and definately not what you are interested in doing. Tell them that your heart just isn’t into the job and you aren’t as committed to the job as you know you should be.

I understand the husband’s boss concern, but he sounds like a decent guy and I am sure he will understand its just not what you are looking for.

Hi, there is no easy way to do this, you have to break it to him slowly! Tell him you would like to talk to him about something important, that way he will have stop whatever he is doing and talk.

    First think to say is:
“Hey [enter name here], I know you have helped us a lot through the last past few years (or months) and you know we really appreciate all you have done.”

This next can be changed to somethin you feel comfortable with…
“But, I think it’s time that I move on to something that will benefit my family, so I’ve decided that, if it’s okay with you (even if he says it’s not okay, you carry on talking) I can leave my role. I can carry on for a week so you can find a replacement, but I’m afraid it’s time I go”

Make sure you finish it with a good note like:
“I hope we keep in touch” – That way you can send him a Christmas card and/or birthday card. You can even invite him to your birthday or family wedding. :-)

    Good luck!

Well, your leaving anyway. Just tell him your leaving then go.
