One response to “Does having a RN license make me an attractive employee to insurance/pharm companies?”

If you do not want to be a nurse, don’t go into nursing.

Pharmaceutical companies rarely hire RNs as representatives, so it won’t help you much there. And insurance companies hire RNs mostly as case managers and auditors, not in the business side.

If you are interested in the business of health care, then study the business of health care, and don’t waste a position in a nursing school which would be better used by someone who could use the information. Take a masters in Hospital/Health Care Administration preferably one with a dual MBA. This would put you more in line for the business side of health care.
