I recently travelled with Air Pacific and had connecting flight from Suva to Nadi, Nadi to the Gold Coast. Although I arrived safely my luggage was no where to be seen. The only other girl on the same connecting flights’ luggage didn’t show up either. I gave all the particulars of the luggage and my son’s car seat to the airport staff but am extremely anxious as to what happens and how long I’d expect to wait until it is found. I didn’t have travel insurance 
All my sons toys and new clothes were in the cases and as mentioned his car seat which has made life very difficult. Is there anything I can do or should I just wait and hope for the best?!
Once I lost luggage and it took about 2 weeks to get it back. The day before I left I received the luggage.

If they didn’t,, you shouldn’t expect to see your luggage again.

Check the website of the airline, with which you made the claim. By now you can check online, or call the number they gave you.
Best to check 24 hours after you arrived.
