    2. Food + Grocery (vegeterain)

For a family of 3, it should be around BD 150.
    3. Internet + Telephone
    Internet – BD 10, Tel – BD 2, Mob – BD 5

    4. Car (i want to keep some good car may be on lease etc), so what could be the expenditure for keeping one car?

Buying car costs anywhere from BD 5500 for a Honda Civic/Toyota Coralla and more for a higher end model. You can get a Honda City for abt BD 4500. Leasing on a per month basis costs around BD 160-180 for a low end car like Lancer/yaris etc
Petrol is cheap and cost BD 0.1/lt (thats 100 fils)

    5. Leisures (like eating outiside on week ends, veg, small shopping in malls, cinema etc.)

Eating in Indian restaurants costs from BD 5 in a small veg restaurant like Sangeeta to BD 40 in Nirvana in Ritz and you have many restaurants in between costing anywhere from BD 10-15 for a family.
Movie tkt costs BD 3 in a multiples or BD 2 otherwise. There are lot of malls here and malls like Bahrain Mall, Dana Mall, Seef Mall and City Centre have good food courts

    6. Medical (doctors, insurance etc,)

If you are not covered by company insurance the medical cost in private hosp like AMH is very expensive the doctors charge BD 12 per visit and medicines are very expensive. Normally companies provide an insurance wherein you have to pay only BD 5 per visit irrespective of the total charges. Alternately you can go to a Govt Health Centre and they would charge you BD 3 for the entire treatment incl doctor, medicines test etc. They are of good quality.

    7. Other travels for family?

There are not many places to see but your kid can learn ice skating, horse riding, tennis. You can join a club like Marina Club etc for BD 300/yr. Bahrain is a small place and you would not have significant transport charges if you own a car.

    8. School fee of my child (in some good indian school) with transport?

The school fees varies and is roughly around BD 30-60/month and transport charges are more depending on the distance

    9. Any other expnditure?

It costs a lot of time to learn to drive here as the trainers are very bad and you would have make travel arrangements in the meantime using a taxi or an illegaly run private taxi till you get a license and can buy a car or lease it.

10 Any other income tax etc.?

You have a pay 1% salary tax thats all. Depends on your contract if the employer is paying the 3% gosi insurance tax or you would have to pay.

Considering your family size and a free house its a good offer not a great offer. But you need to compare it what you are getting and your qualifications and experience. At the same time do negiotiate if its possible for a family medical insurance and transport to and fro to office at least till you get the license

Good Offer Take it. I guess SK has given the correct answer. I am sure after spending on all things required, you can still save a handsome amount per month. Welcome to Bahrain.

    1. No rent expense as you said.
    2. That’s cheap. For your family size, you will need to pay around BD100 per month for groceries.
    3. Internet, you can get it for as cheap as BD10 per month. For a telephone, depending on your calls you might pay from BD20 to BD40 per month. You will need to buy call cards, which depends how much you want to call home.
    4. If you want to rent, you can get a small car for BD5 per day if you take it on a long term lease. Or maybe buy a car worth BD5000 and you only have to pay around BD80 per month for it. Or maybe buy a second hand car.
    5. Cinema tickets are BD3 per person. As for food, there are nice restaurants that would cost around BD3-4 per person.
    6. This can be a bit expensive depending on which doctor you visit. There are cheaper doctors and I heard they are good as well, their consultation fees can be BD5. Medicine can be expensive also depending on the illness.
    7. Travels?????
    8. Transport is BD15 per month, so for a school year is BD150. Schools also can vary, a good Indian School can start from BD1000 and above per year.
    9. Depands on you :)
    10. You will have to pay 1% of your salary for unemployment. All working employees have to pay this on a monthly basis.
