I’m planning a trip for a concert from the USA to the UK. Since the whole trip revolves around a performer who, shall we say, doesn’t have the best record of remaining healthy… who do you recomend I go through for travel insurance. I’m paying 00 for tickets, plus probably 00 in airline. Then there’s hotel and food, and the junk every tourist must buy/see.
So, I’m very keen on getting a policy that will help with all this if he decides to flake out…
Also, what happens if he does? Would most policies reimburse for the tickets and airfare? Or would I still be able to go and they would pay for just the concert tickets? I’ve never worried about this before.
I obtained travel insurance recently to cover a trip to Egypt and was extremely satisfied with the company that I used. However, I do not know if having a performer cancel his concert would constitute a legitimate reason for canceling and thereby qualifying for reimbursement under the policy. If I were you I would check the company I am recommending (which is also recommended by Frommer’s) by visiting their website first www.squaremouth.com and if you like what you see, call them to specifically ask them your question/s since you have an unusual situation–I would not feel comfortable just purchasing it on their website without getting some specific information.
Squaremouth’s number is 1(800) 348-9505 and they represent numerous companies so that you can compare prices, coverages, etc.
I hope this helps. Good Luck and safe travels.
