I’m receiving a hefty insurance check and I wish to deposit it before I pay for repairs. However, my bank has no branches or ATMs in the area so I don’t believe I’ll be able to unless I travel a LONG way. Are there any other available options typical of most banks? Worst comes to worst I’ll just open an account at a local branch but I wanted to make sure remote depositing/cashing was out of the question first.

their are lots of Cash loan places (they will cash any check), but they charge like 3$ per hundred.
Id just open a account and deposit it , its cheaper(usually free), and your set for the next time you have a check to cash.
You can make arrangements for your check to be electronically deposited in your bank acct. All you have to do is give the insurance company a voided check from your checking acct. This has the bank routing number and your personal acct number. Contact your bank and see if they have any other requirements.

Either mail it to the bank or create a new account at a local bank and make sure you let them know about the situation to try to limit the hold onto your new account.
