My period is 11 full days late and I’m usually like clockwork down to the exact day. I haven’t been late one day in well over a year and a half, but even then it was never more then 4 days. I’ve had none of my usual period symptoms at all and feel perfectly fine.
I took a pregnancy test today (First Response) and was given a negative. I really wasn’t all that convinced I was pregnant since we always used protection but as my period became later and later, I had to at least test to make sure.
Now that I received a negative when it should have had no issue being accurate, I’m wondering if this means something could be wrong. Nothing in my life has changed recently, I haven’t lost or gained any weight, no new exercise, no stress, no new medications, no travel in over a year and I haven’t been sick at all since January. I’ve had my period for 10 years so it’s well regulated. I’m out of ideas of what could have delayed my period.
Should I be concerned about my period not showing up and no clear reason for it? Should I still consider pregnancy an option even though it’s so unlikely with a negative test result? I’m still waiting for my new health insurance to kick in, so I can’t just run to the doctor for random testing.
Ideas and advice besides seeing a doctor would be the best.
Thanks.
Your answer is pointless if you don’t actually read the title and body. Both clearly state I took a test and it was negative.
Thanks for nothing.
take a pregnancy test
how about your eating it can contribute to this problem too. Try to check with the doctor maybe he use pregnancy test kid that is more accurate.
Thats pretty odd..I don’t know what other reasons it could be since you haven’t really changed anything in your life..I guess I wouldnt worry about it right now. I would wait another week and if you still don’t get it take another test just incase.. once your insurance kicks in make an appointment if it still hasn’t came..or you could maybe call and a clinic and ask to speak to a nurse and see if she can help you out…
i was thinking about you having too much stress but you say that you don’t so i would consider taking another test!! Other than that well the only person that can answer your question is a Doctor!!
Well, I was in the same situation. My period was late and not even a thought about being pregnant had crossed my mind. I took a first response test 10 days after my missed period and it was negative. I let it go a few days, retested with another brand (equate from Walmart, I HIGHLY recommend this test) and got a light light positive. I restested over the next couple weeks and got a lot of negatives, and didn’t get a convincing, dark positive until a few days ago. I went to the doctors and I am 6 weeks, 5 days pregnant.
I totally wouldn’t rule pregnancy out as an option. It is possible since you said your periods are like clockwork. Even if you did use protection, because let me tell you, I have PCOS and was told I would have a VERY hard time conceiving and my boyfriend and I had sex ONCE and it happened. Just put it to the back of your mind (which I know is going to be hard!) and restest in another week, even maybe two if AF doesn’t show up. Just don’t do what I did and spend over a hundred dollars trying to solve the mystery.
Good luck girl, hope everything works in your favor. Keep us updated! remember, don’t fret!
Poor your you must be worried but i am sure it is nothing! Sometimes condoms can be fulty or break during sex and neither your or your patner may relise. I think yuor should take another pregnacy test because your are ment to take 3 and then see all the results. If this is not working then it is most lightly that your are having an off month, everyone is different and something in your bony could be challenging something at the same time like a cold and that is why. I am sure it will all be okay soon. Go a doctor though i you are really worried.
hope i helped a little!
